Wings of Marsia: The girl who escaped

Young Woman Running Down Dirt Path

Wings of Marsia: The girl who escaped

At fifteen, Marsia’s life in rural Rwanda should have been simple—but fate had other plans.

After spending five years in Kigali, she returns home only to find her father refusing to let her leave and arranging her marriage to a man old enough to be her father.

Terrified but determined to choose her own future, Marsia escapes back to Kigali, only to discover that her aunt has relocated to Uganda. Entrusted to a stranger to guide her across the border, she soon realizes she has stepped into another danger when he attempts to exploit her. Alone and vulnerable in a city she does not know, Marsia runs for her life until a rare moment of kindness offers temporary refuge.

Her journey carries her even farther—to London—where survival becomes more perilous than ever. When her employer attempts to abuse her and then plots to send her back to Africa to protect himself, Marsia makes a daring escape into the night. Homeless and alone in a foreign city, she must rely on courage, intelligence, and sheer will to stay alive.

The Girl Who Escaped is a gripping and emotional story of resilience, survival, and the unbreakable strength of the human spirit. It is the first installment in the Wings of Marsia series, following Marsia’s transformation from a frightened girl fleeing oppression into a woman determined to define her own destiny.

Book Two continues her journey as she steps into a new life in the heart of England’s Cotswold town of Cheltenham, where new challenges, ambitions, and tests of the heart await.

MG Nelson is a former UK registered mental health nurse whose years of service in the health sector shaped her understanding of human resilience, vulnerability, and the quiet strength found in everyday lives. After dedicating much of her life to caring for others, she now lives in the countryside, where the calm rhythm of nature inspires her storytelling. Surrounded by open fields, quiet footpaths, and vast sky, she spends her days writing stories that echo with emotional truth and touch the hearts of readers around the world.

Her debut novel, Wings of Marsia: The Girl Who Escaped, is the first book in a powerful fourpart trilogy that follows the extraordinary journey of Marsia—a fictional character whose struggles, courage, and transformation mirror the experiences of many people in real life. Though Marsia’s world is imagined, the emotional and psychological battles she faces are deeply human and profoundly relatable.

Accompanying the novel is Land of the Mind, a psychological companion book that explores Marisa’s inner journey. Designed to help readers identify their own emotional patterns, fears, and strengths, Land of the Mind is both reflective and transformative. It is paired with a workbook that guides readers gently toward healing, selfawareness, and personal growth. These psychological works were created with one purpose: to help people see themselves in Marsia, and to realise that their own story also deserves compassion, courage, and hope.

When she is not writing, the author can be found walking through the countryside she now calls home—listening to birdsong, breathing in the scent of wild grass, and drawing inspiration from the quiet wisdom of nature. Her writing is rooted in empathy, shaped by lived experience, and guided by a deep desire to uplift and empower every reader who turns the page.

Her mission is simple yet profound: to tell stories that heal, connect, and remind us that even in the darkest chapters, the human spirit can rise again.

The New PSYCHOLOGY: A Unified Field of Brain, Mind, Behavior, Perception, Culture...: Abbreviated Edition (B&W)      480 Pages, 8.5X11”, Fully Illustrated These are the bits and pieces that make up a deep understanding of how our mind works. Welcome to the deep woods.     Psychology controls the biology of our brain. At the witch trials in Salem, when the accused were brought into the court, adrenaline and cortisol would have shot into the bloodstream of the spectators. Neurotransmitters would have surged through their brain. Their very brain waves would have shot up from 12 to 40 cycles per second. A P300 brain wave would have screamed “ALERT”. Their heart jumped.  A chill went up their spine. The girls began to shriek “Witch, Witch!”     We know this because the same thing happens in America today among those watching a Hollywood horror movie about witches, zombies, demons, murder and more. In varying degrees thi...

The Revenant's Mark
